Wow, that’s one hell of a title. Roller coasters on fire! Arrhahahharhahha….run for your life! Except you can’t because you are strapped into a rollercoaster (which is why I prefer to avoid them & hold everyone’s purses and cameras instead.)
My two most recent Saturday Spinning classes were developed with the help of ICI Pro. You know this website, I’ve written about it before and used it many many times in the past. And so I looked to it again for some profile help. Speaking of ICI Pro, did you hear? Master Instructor Jennifer Sage left! I was shocked and I’m sure there’s a good story behind her departure (there usually is.) I am sad to see her go as it was many of her profile outlines I borrowed, however she did not go far, she’s back at her old blog doing what she does best. If you’ve forgotten, you can find her at FunhogSpins.
Since I borrowed the profiles I can’t share :o( But, I will gladly give you my music playlist.
Spinning #88: The Roller Coaster Ride: 8 songs, 47.7 minutes (iTunes link here)
–by the way, this was one of the most challenging classes I have personally ever taught! But it was so much fun. I kept stressing to go at your own pace & purposely did not give target heart rates or RPE suggestions. I just wanted everyone to ride. But the energy was so high even I found myself pushing harder than I usually do while I’m teaching.
That was the class from 2 Saturday’s ago. This past Saturday was a ride I have taught before…also from ICI Pro. I kept the same structure and cues, but switched up the music. I think it turned out better than the original!
Spinning #89 Firepower (revisited) 11 songs, 48.3 minutes (iTunes link here)
Don’t Stop Believin (Starlab Club Mix)—Newton (6:33)
How fun?!!? And I had the opportunity to use my Tabata app on my iTouch.
Second only to Angry Birds, that may be one of my most frequently used apps.
What does the rest of your day and evening look like? On my agenda tonight: return to Kundalini Yoga. I have been a very bad yogi since January. Initially I started slacking because I wanted one night a week to lounge and veg on the couch. But I’ve realized that though that is really nice to do that once in a while, I need the yoga to help keep me balanced. I’m looking forward to a good yoga set tonight, especially since, according to some, this is an important day in Kundalini Yoga. Starting March 9th, 2011 we being the Unity Wave of Consciousness where great changes happen every 18 days!
Even if you don’t believe in what I dub “stuff like that”…there’s no denying that things are shifting in the world. Time feels like it is moving faster than ever. There’s some extra energy in the air. And changes are everywhere! Whoo-hoo…talk about feeling like you are riding a rollercoaster on fire (see how I did that there? Started with the rollercoaster, ended with the rollercoaster…nice, huh?)
Though not directly related, I’ll leave you with one of my favorite Yogi Bhajan quotes of all time:
“If you are willing to look at another person’s behavior toward you as a reflection of the state of their relationship with themselves, rather than a statement about your value as a person, then you will, over a period of time, cease to react at all”
Have a great afternoon!~Darcy
